The Center for Student Development offers a variety of tests to Trevecca students, alumni and current employees.

Tests Offered
CLEP
CLEP exams are administered at Trevecca by appointment for Trevecca students only.
CLEP exams are also offered at other colleges across the United States. CLEP tests can be taken at any location, but students wanting scores posted on their Trevecca transcripts must request that scores be sent to:

Each CLEP exam costs $95.00.* This fee must be paid prior to taking the exam by going to the My Account registration portal on the CLEP website. Click here to pay and register for the exam. Print and bring your registration ticket with you on the day of testing.
The Office of Academic Records will receive a copy of the scores approximately three weeks after the test is taken. The scores will be evaluated, and then added to the student’s record.
- CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-exam program in the country.
- CLEP exams are available in two categories--general examinations and subject examinations.
- CLEP tests cost $95
- Most exams are approximately 90 minutes in length.
- CLEP exams are computer-based so most results are available immediately (essay exams excluded)
Five general examinations are available:
- College Composition (6 credit hours)
- Humanities (6 credit hours)
- College Mathematics (6 credit hours)
- Natural Sciences (6 credit hours)
- Social Sciences and History (6 credit hours)
Each general examination covers material taught in courses that most students take as requirements in the first two years of college. Each is 90 minutes long and consists primarily of multiple-choice questions.
Many CLEP subject examinations count towards specific courses taught at Trevecca.

*Through the Modern States' Freshman Year for Free program, you can sign up for a free online CLEP study course. Modern States is a nonprofit education alliance dedicated to college access for all, and its Freshman Year for Free program helps students earn up to one year of college credit without tuition or textbook expenses.

DSST
DSST tests are offered in the Center for Student Development by appointment only. Only Trevecca students can take DSST tests at the Center.
- Each DSST test costs $100
- The DSST test fee is only payable by MasterCard or Visa at the time of testing
DSST tests are designed to document knowledge obtained from non-traditional sources, such as work, reading, and outside interests; however, some material is available to help familiarize you with test format, sample questions etc.

ACT
Trevecca offers the ACT On-Campus for current students needing to increase their scores for entrance into the Nursing or Education programs.
The ACT On-Campus can also be used for admission requirements for prospective Trevecca students. The $75 fee (starting August 27, 2024) can be paid at the time of testing.
Please note that the ACT On-Campus is not available for students not choosing Trevecca. The scores are not transferable to other schools.
