Biography

Craig brings a wealth of criminal justice experience to his role at Trevecca. He has served as a parole officer, juvenile and adult probation officer, pre-sentence investigator, and as a police officer. He has taken active roles in efforts of criminal justice reform, the anti-human trafficking movement, emergency management, and social justice.

Alice is the director of Trevecca’s on-site Ed.D. program. She also teaches education courses to our graduate students. Yolanda serves as the Director of Teacher Education and is the Initial Licensure Officer for Trevecca graduates. She plays an integral role in training future educators and has great expertise in elementary education, reading literacy and addressing the needs of economically disadvantaged students. Before coming to Trevecca, Yolanda spent 30 years as a teacher, literary coach and assistant principal in the Metro Nashville Public Schools system.

Biography

Before Seth came to Trevecca, he worked as a film director and producer and a news anchor and reporter. He has led international documentary trips to Greece, Israel and Rome. Seth now uses that expertise to teach courses ranging from cinematography and editing to directing and screenwriting.

Before joining Trevecca, Ruth served as a registered nurse, a nursing research scientist and a professor. She’s an accomplished author and has helped lead several major studies on infection prevention, fall prevention, safety in communication in healthcare, nursing professionalism and retention, and patient satisfaction and safety. She’s now the director of our nursing program, where she helps future nurses understand the importance of the profession and teaches them the necessary tools to become successful.

Dan is a pastor, author, mentor, professor, board chair, and active servant of our community in addition to his role as the University president. Dan graduated from Trevecca and spent the first 30+ years of his career pastoring Nazarene churches. In addition to now leading Trevecca, he serves as the board chair for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the chairman for ReThink Forward, Tennessee’s first state-approved charter school.

James spent nearly 30 years as a law enforcement professional, starting as a dispatcher and working his way up the ladder before retiring as the chief of police in Mt. Juliet. James now serves as Trevecca’s chief security officer, leading the campus security team and playing an integral role in the safety and security of students, faculty and campus. James is also an author, a Navy veteran, a counselor and a full-time pastor.

Biography

Matthew has worked for more than two decades in the field of magnetospheric space physics, producing various peer-reviewed research publications. In 2009, he started the Near Space Research program at Trevecca, and since then has regularly launched student research payloads to altitudes greater than 100,000 feet on weather balloons. He has helped Trevecca receive NASA, NSF and other external support for student research and has developed collaborations with numerous universities and K-12 schools. Huddleston is also a part-time author and world traveler, and has visited more than 40 different countries.

Biography

Nyk grew up being fascinated with aquatic life, which led to a degree in biology. From there, his interest grew to include genetics and developmental biology and led him to a graduate degree at Meharry and becoming a Research Fellow at Vanderbilt. At Trevecca, he is responsible for teaching students in courses of anatomy and physiology, life science and genetics.
