Phil is a Certified Public Accountant with financial and accounting expertise in the energy industry. He’s spent more than 20 years in the university setting teaching accounting, business law, investments, nonprofit management, and public administration.

Jim was a practicing attorney in Nashville, before deciding to use his knowledge and experience to teach in the Skinner School of Business. He has been extensively involved with charitable and nonprofit organizations throughout Middle Tennessee, serving on many boards.

Tom serves as Trevecca’s provost and is a senior vice president. He has a degree in professional counseling and focuses his time on student retention and success, academic services and leadership studies.

Jonathan serves as Trevecca’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Accreditation. He also teaches leadership studies on campus. He has experience with the accreditation process, after serving as a peer evaluator for two separate regional accrediting bodies.

Melinda focuses her time and talents on enrollment growth and management, financial aid, sales and marketing, customer service and hospitality and enrollment systems. Before coming to Trevecca, she recruited graduate students at Northwest Nazarene University.

Jessica is a vice president and dean of student development. She has spent her entire career on various college campuses working with students to fully understand and help address the issues they face. Craig brings a wealth of criminal justice experience to his role at Trevecca. He has served as a parole officer, juvenile and adult probation officer, pre-sentence investigator, and as a police officer. He has taken active roles in efforts of criminal justice reform, the anti-human trafficking movement, emergency management, and social justice.

Greg is the director of security and he works tirelessly to protect Trevecca’s students and staff and provide a safe learning and living environment. He has extensive law enforcement training with emphasis on emergency planning and response.

Biography
JoEllen spent 10 years in a newsroom, before deciding to train the next generation of journalists. At Trevecca, she teaches students the importance of journalism in society and the high standards and ethics required for acceptable and respected news gathering and reporting. She leads Trevecca’s multimedia journalism program and oversees the University’s award-winning student newspaper.

Joshua has a Ph.D. in economics and focuses his research on industrial organization and health economics. Before becoming a professor at Trevecca, he worked in the healthcare industry and has vast knowledge of the role healthcare plays in a global economy.

Suzie has a deep dedication for teaching and training the next generation of educators. She has taught students who range in age from toddlers to graduate students. Biography
Alice is the director of Trevecca’s on-site Ed.D. program. She also teaches education courses to our graduate students. She worked on the new teacher induction and Reading First programs for the Tennessee Department of Education. Before coming to Trevecca, she taught grades five through eight in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Biography
Yolanda serves as the Director of Teacher Education and is the Initial Licensure Officer for Trevecca graduates. She plays an integral role in training future educators and has great expertise in elementary education, reading literacy and addressing the needs of economically disadvantaged students. Before coming to Trevecca, Yolanda spent 30 years as a teacher, literary coach and assistant principal in the Metro Nashville Public Schools system.

Biography
Before Seth came to Trevecca, he worked as a film director and producer and a news anchor and reporter. He has led international documentary trips to Greece, Israel and Rome. Seth now uses that expertise to teach courses ranging from cinematography and editing to directing and screenwriting.

Adam is an award-winning filmmaker who has produced several films including “The Chosen,” “I’m Not Ashamed” and “Heaven Bound.” He’s also worked with a long list of A-list musicians to help create music videos for several hit songs. As an instructor at Trevecca, he teaches a variety of courses for our film and television department.

Biography
Before joining Trevecca, Ruth served as a registered nurse, a nursing research scientist and a professor. She’s an accomplished author and has helped lead several major studies on infection prevention, fall prevention, safety in communication in healthcare, nursing professionalism and retention, and patient satisfaction and safety. She’s now the director of our nursing program, where she helps future nurses understand the importance of the profession and teaches them the necessary tools to become successful.

Dan is a pastor, author, mentor, professor, board chair, and active servant of our community in addition to his role as the University president. Dan graduated from Trevecca and spent the first 30+ years of his career pastoring Nazarene churches. In addition to now leading Trevecca, he serves as the board chair for the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities and the chairman for ReThink Forward, Tennessee’s first state-approved charter school.

Susan came to Trevecca with a wealth of counseling experience. She is a licensed marital and family therapist with a private practice and has also served with the Tennessee Marriage and Family Therapy Association for many years. Biography
Dean not only teaches music business–he works in the music business. He’s a senior executive with Sony Music, which allows him to use his firsthand, practical experience and his interactions with global music leaders to teach and train students for their careers. Dean also serves as the director of Trevecca’s entrepreneurship program, using his vast business knowledge and experience to help the next generation of business owners succeed.

LaMetrius oversees Trevecca’s online learning and support services. Aaron’s teaching specialities are sports medicine and exercise physiology, but he’s also a licensed physical therapist and personal trainer. As a professor, he educates his students in the health sciences. As a physical therapist, he helps his patients return to life before injury.

James spent nearly 30 years as a law enforcement professional, starting as a dispatcher and working his way up the ladder before retiring as the chief of police in Mt. Juliet. James now serves as Trevecca’s chief security officer, leading the campus security team and playing an integral role in the safety and security of students, faculty and campus. James is also an author, a Navy veteran, a counselor and a full-time pastor.

Matthew has worked for more than two decades in the field of magnetospheric space physics, producing various peer-reviewed research publications. In 2009, he started the Near Space Research program at Trevecca, and since then has regularly launched student research payloads to altitudes greater than 100,000 feet on weather balloons. He has helped Trevecca receive NASA, NSF and other external support for student research and has developed collaborations with numerous universities and K-12 schools. Huddleston is also a part-time author and world traveler, and has visited more than 40 different countries.

Biography
Nyk grew up being fascinated with aquatic life, which led to a degree in biology. From there, his interest grew to include genetics and developmental biology and led him to a graduate degree at Meharry and becoming a Research Fellow at Vanderbilt. At Trevecca, he is responsible for teaching students in courses of anatomy and physiology, life science and genetics.

Josh is a medical doctor who helps prepare our future healthcare providers. He teaches courses in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, medical physiology/pathophysiology and epidemiology. He also plays a pivotal role in helping train students enrolled in Trevecca’s Master of Public Health program.

Leigh Ann is an associate professor of sports management in Trevecca’s Skinner School of Business. She has more than 25 years of experience in the sports industry with NCAA Division I, II and III programs, as well as NAIA programs and various nonprofits. She is an active volunteer for local, regional and national sporting events - including two Super Bowls and two NCAA Final Fours.

Vernon is the associate vice president of program development in Trevecca’s School of Music and Worship Arts. Before coming to Trevecca, he spent nearly 15 years as the dean of Liberty University’s School of Music. He helps train future worship leaders and musicians to help grow the churches they serve.
