Jana is passionate about walking alongside students as they pursue one of the most meaningful goals of their academic journey—earning their doctorate. She holds a doctorate in Leadership Studies from Trevecca, an Advanced Certificate in Strategic Human Resources Management from Cornell University, a master’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from Bowling Green State University, and a bachelor’s degree from Doane University. She is also a certified measurement specialist through the Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University.

With nearly 30 years of administrative experience in higher education and human resources, Jana brings deep expertise and a student-centered approach to her work. At Trevecca, she teaches research and leadership courses and serves as a dissertation advisor. Her research interests include leadership identity development, mentorship, and institutional effectiveness. She is actively involved with both the International Leadership Association and the Association of Leadership Educators.

Jana divides her time between Nashville and Springfield, Missouri. She and her husband, Anthony, are the proud parents of two sons, Evan and Alex. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering, traveling, and spending time on the pickleball court.
