Joy received her Doctor of Medicine from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She went on to complete her internship in internal medicine and psychiatry and then her residency in psychiatry at Hopkins. She was then an attending physician and instructor at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Joy is a peer-reviewed published author in the field of bipolar disorder and Huntington's disease. She also has a wealth of clinical experience having practiced in both the outpatient community and inpatient hospital settings. As an associate professor in the physician assistant program, Joy is passionate about community and teaching the next generation of medical professionals to care for patients - body, soul, and spirit.
