Kathleen joined the Trevecca Nazarene University PA Program in June 2024 as the Program Director. She received her MMS from Nova Southeastern University in physician assistant studies, her M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University in health promotion and education, and her B.A. from The Ohio State University in English. Since becoming a P.A., she has worked in family, internal, psychiatric and emergency medicine, and continues practicing clinically in emergency medicine.
In 2014 she left full-time clinical practice and joined the South University PA program as full-time principal faculty and has not looked back on her decision to enter the world of PA education. Since entering academics, she served as a founding member of the University of South Florida’s PA Program in the role of Academic Director, principal faculty at High Point University, and was the founding Program Director for the Drury University PA Program.
Kathleen has found educating future PAs to be the most rewarding job in her career. She enjoys watching the transformation that occurs from lay person to P.A. during the educational process and believes that the foundation laid in PA school regarding respect for patients, ethical decision making, and patient care is the building blocks for each student’s success as a PA practitioner.
In her free time, she enjoys cycling, swimming, running and playing ultimate frisbee. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and furry friends.
