Peggy J. Cooning joined Trevecca Nazarene University as a member of the President’s Cabinet in 2007. She serves as vice president for university engagement and oversees engagement with key university constituents through volunteerism, philanthropy, career development and connections, education and events. During her tenure at Trevecca she has led The University through its largest comprehensive capital campaign raising $84.3 million in current and future gifts.
Prior to her work at Trevecca, Peggy served West Virginia Wesleyan College for 12 years as vice president for external relations; six years as vice president of communications for the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association; and additional communications and fundraising experiences at various non-profit organizations.
Peggy holds a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University and a Master of Organizational Leadership from Trevecca. She and her husband Doug Lepter live in Nashville.
