Randy, a professor of psychology, teaches a range of courses including General Psychology, Statistics, Research Methodology, Drugs and Behavior, Psychology of Art and Senior Seminar. Each semester he guides students on a journey conducting original research in various areas of personality and burnout, and recently Covid stress and anxiety and masking effects. Some of these studies are presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research and a few are published in peer-reviewed journals. Randy is also a research consultant in the healthcare research world. He is also an oil painter and loves the study of the psychology of art. He has done significant research (and travel) related to the life and writings of Vincent van Gogh and analyzed Van Gogh’s extensive writings exploring themes of mood and absolutist language (which is a predictor of depression and suicidality).
