Robert Alan Young is a subject matter expert and organizational development consultant specializing in cyber workforce strategy, analysis and implementation science. He teaches courses in the organizational intelligence track of Trevecca’s leadership doctoral program.

He retired from his previous career after 27 years of federal service, serving most recently as the senior advisor and chief strategist for the national security arm of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). His service also included leadership roles with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Capitol Police and NASA. He started in public service as a member of the U.S. Army and later the Philadelphia Police Department.

He attended Harvard University’s Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows Program and the Senior Executives in National and International Security Program. He maintains certifications in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC). He has presented and published on topics in applied research, interventional change management, data literacy and evidence-based decision-making. His research focus is the implementation of evidence-based practices to improve leader decision-making and organizational capabilities. His passion is working with individuals who are driven to produce better outcomes from their efforts.

Robert lives with his wife, Kristin, and their 12-year-old Havanese, Boomer, on the shores of Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay.
