Samuel is chair of the Department of Worship for the School of Music and Worship Arts. He also serves as the director of Undergraduate Research and the Quality Enhancement Plan at the University. He holds degrees from Tennessee State University (Ed.D.), Belmont University (MMEd) Trevecca Nazarene University (B.S.), and post-doctoral certificates from The Institute for Worship Studies. Samuel’s engagement at Trevecca since 1998 includes serving as chair of the Division of Music, associate provost and dean of enrollment management and director of the National Praise and Worship Institute.
Samuel’s present role at the School of Music and Worship Arts includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, student advising and program director for the Master of Arts in worship and leadership degree. An ordained deacon in the Church of the Nazarene, he has served as worship pastor at three different churches in the Nashville area.
Samuel resides in Mount Juliet, Tenn., is married to Keli, has three married daughters, and enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren.
