Suzann currently serves as dean of the School of Education at Trevecca Nazarene University. She has taught early childhood courses in reading, writing, social studies, infants and toddlers and childcare administration as well as elementary courses in reading, social studies and science. Additional courses taught during her tenure as a post-secondary educator include areas in learning and cognition, special education and classroom management. Teaching future teachers is her passion. While at Trevecca, she has received the Teaching Excellence Award.
Before joining Trevecca, Suzann served as professor of education in the Teacher Education Department at Welch College formerly located in Nashville, Tennessee. While serving at Welch, she was a multiple recipient of both the Advisor of the Year award and Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Prior to teaching in higher education, her experiences include working as director and teacher in special education (K-12), early childhood and elementary teacher and childcare director. Suzann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in biblical studies, a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in special education, and a Doctor of Education degree in leadership and professional practice.
